ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Tuesday was moving day at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional, and that's exactly what the Oklahoma State women's golf team did.
The Cowgirls combined for 14 birdies to leap four spots up the leaderboard, and will head into Wednesday's final round at the UNM Championship Course in seventh place (+14 • 304-286 – 590) and just two strokes behind the cut line to advance to the NCAA Championships.
After tomorrow's final round, the low six teams and the low three individuals not on those teams at each of the four NCAA Regional sites (for a total of 24 teams and 12 individuals) advance to the national championships, which are being hosted at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois on May 19-24.
Top ranked Stanford is currently atop the team leaderboard at 3-under 573. Cardinal Albane Valenzuela is in first place in individual play at 4-under 140.
After opening the day with a pair of bogies, Cowgirl Kenzie Neisen played near-perfect golf for the rest of the day. The junior was 5-under over the final 16 holes to move her into a tie for 20th place at 2-over 146.
