Cowboys Finish Second At Big 12 Championship

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – For the second consecutive year, Oklahoma State's men's golf team finished as the runner-up at the Big 12 Championship, coming in one shot behind Texas on Wednesday at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
The Cowboys and Longhorns entered the day tied for first place at the par-70, 6,940-yard layout. Battling cold and windy conditions, UT posted a closing 18-over 298 to finish with a 48-over-par total of 1,168, while OSU posted a 299 during its fourth round to come in a stroke back. Kansas was third at 1,172.
OSU led for much of the round, but Texas made a strong push over the final two holes, playing Nos. 17 and 18 5-under among its counting four scores. The Cowboys finished that stretch at 1-under par.
KU's Chase Hanna carded his second consecutive 70 to finish at 7-over 287 and as the tournament's individual medalist.
OSU's Zach Bauchou carded a closing 75 to finish at 291 and in sole possession of fourth place. The sophomore was joined in the to 10 by freshman Viktor Hovland, who carded his low round of the event with a 72 to move up 11 spots into a tie for sixth place.
Senior Zachary Olsen and junior Kristoffer Ventura were among the group tied for 16th place at 298. Olsen closed with a 77, while Ventura signed for a 78 during his fourth round.
Hayden Wood rounded out the Cowboy starting five. The sophomore posted a 75 to tie for 28th place at 302.
