- Tavarius Shine led the Cowboys in this one with 20 points, which is a career high. He had a 6-0 run in the second half to tie up the game for the Pokes.
- Mitchell Solomon finished with 17 points, which is a career-high for him. He also led the team in rebounds with eight, and four of those being on the offensive boards. It was the third time he has led the team in rebounds this season.
- Lindy Waters was big in the second half for the Cowboys. He scored all 10 of his points in the second half of this one.
- Solomon's field goal streak came to an end, but not before he hit a couple of shots. The senior had made 17 straight shots before finally missing today against the Shockers.
- These two teams split the home-and-home series after OSU won, 93-76, in Wichita.
- WSU entered the game ranked 15th nationally in assist/turnover ratio, but OSU forced them into 19 turnovers and 11 assists.
- The Cowboys continue to be a strong free throw shooting team. They went 18-21 (86%) from the charity stripe in this one to help keep them in the game. The Cowboys are ranked 14th nationally in free throw shooting with a clip of 78.5.
- Jeffrey Carroll now has 985 career points. He is only 15 points shy of becoming the 41st Cowboy with 1,000 career points.
- The Cowboys used a 7-0 run in the beginning of the game to help them jump out to an early lead over the Shockers.
- After this game, OSU still holds the series lead over WSU, 30-9, with a 15-3 mark in Stillwater. The Cowboys are now 2-2 against top-ranked Shocker teams. The last time Wichita State won in GIA was in 1957.
