January 27, 2017 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State defensive tackle Vincent Taylor is one of 24 players from last year's college football season who will compete in the 2017 State Farm All-Star Football Challenge, scheduled for Jan. 30 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
The event will air Feb. 3 at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2, then re-air April 8 at noon on ESPN and April 23 at 11 a.m. on ESPN2.
The skills competition will feature 24 of college football's best players divided into six teams based on their conference. Teams of four players from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC and a "Wild Card" team from the remaining conferences will compete for conference supremacy in a series of skills competitions. Each team will also be designated a current NFL player that was a prolific college star in that team's conference to serve as a coach and mentor throughout the competition.
In addition Taylor, Texas Tech's Pat Mahomes, Oklahoma's Samaje Perine and Oklahoma's Dede Westbrook will represent "Team Big 12." Former Kansas Jayhawk Aqib Talib of the Denver Broncos will serve as the team's coach.
Each player will individually participate in a timed event, and then finish with a full team event. Events will all be timed and have individual winners that will compile into a cumulative score to determine the winning team.
Individual events include the State Farm QB Accuracy Competition, the PlayStation Hands Competition, the Be The Match Lineman Strength Challenge and the Mercedes-Benz Obstacle Course. To conclude the event, players will compete as teams in the State Farm Team Competition.
