Cowgirls Roll In Exhibition Opener

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team rode a strong second-half performance to victory in its exhibition opener on Sunday afternoon, winning 97-42 over Southeastern Oklahoma State inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowgirls jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and never looked back, getting strong individual performances from sophomore Karli Wheeler and senior Diana Omozee. Wheeler connected on four 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 23 points, while Omozee poured in 17 points in the first half en route to a 19-point outing.

After taking a 43-21 lead into the halftime locker room, OSU exploded for 34 points in the third period. Kaylee Jensen led the charge, scoring 10 of her 14 points in the period. The junior also finished with 10 rebounds in just 18 minutes of action in the contest.

The Cowgirls limited Southeastern to a 3-of-20 shooting effort in the fourth quarter, while only surrendering eight points. For the game, OSU held the Savage Storm to a 17.6 percent (13-74) shooting effort.

Junior Mandy Coleman scored seven points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Senior Katelyn Loecker chipped in with a game-high six assists to go with five rebounds.

Freshman Jaden Hobbs came off the bench with a 10-point, four-assist effort in her first game in a Cowgirl uniform.

OSU will open its regular season on Nov. 11 when it hosts Arkansas State at 11 a.m.
