2004: Took third-place after becoming a surprise NCAA champion in 2003 ... posted a 24-4 record during his sophomore campaign ... did not wrestle until the OU dual when he defeated 10th-ranked Justin Dyer ... majored Dan Pitsch and Dustin Fisher of Oregon State and Oregon, respectively ... won a title at the Reno Tournament of Champions ... pinned Daniel Contreras of Cal State-Fullerton in 46 seconds ... recorded a tech. fall against John Dickerson of The Citadel ... advanced to the finals with a major decision over Pitsch ... defeated 13th-ranked Ryan Halsey of Cal Poly to claim the title ... went 11-3 in dual matches ... recorded two falls and two tech. falls ... his quickest fall came in 46 seconds ... had four major decisions ... went 16-3 in tight matches that needed a decision ... had 32 takedowns and 23 escapes in duals ... had eight near falls ... pinned ninth-ranked Matt Pell of Missouri in 6:12 ... at the Big 12 Championships in Ames, Iowa, Rosholt defeated fourth-ranked Travis Pascoe of Nebraska and ninth-ranked Pell to claim the Big 12 title ... defeated Sam Wendland of Wyoming in the first round of the NCAA Championships ... recorded a tech. fall against 20th-ranked Pitsch ... defeated Nate Mesyn of Michigan State before being knocked to the consolation bracket by second-ranked Ben Heizer of Northern Illinois ... defeated seventh-ranked Brian Glynn of Illinois and Iowa's Paul Bradley in the third-place match.
2003: The lone Cowboy from Idaho made a name for himself at the NCAA tournament when he wrestled his way to an individual title ... defeated Keith Clifton of The Citadel, 8-6, and Cleveland State's Gerald Harris, 12-7, in the first two rounds before facing Princeton's national runner-up Greg Parker ... earlier in the year at the Reno Tournament of Champions, Parker majored Rosholt in the finals ... Rosholt stormed out to a 5-0 lead before pinning Parker in 2:20 ... in the semifinals, he faced Oklahoma's Josh Lambrecht ... Rosholt dominated the match, scoring a pair of takedowns and a reversal en route to a victory over Lambrecht ... in the finals, he battled Missouri's Scott Barker for the second time ... at the Big 12 Championships, Barker scored a 9-1 major decision over Rosholt ... however, at the NCAA tournament Rosholt capped off his season with a 13-5 major decision, the only bonus-point win in the finals ... Rosholt entered the tournament as the 10th seed and came out as No. 1 ... he recorded two takedowns in the first period to take a 4-2 lead heading into the second frame ... Barker cut the lead to 4-3 with an escape to open the second, but that would be the closest he would come ... 2002: Had a stellar redshirt freshman year, garnering a 19-3 record while wrestling in open tournaments ... among his 19 victories, nine came by fall and seven came by decision ... he notched two victories at the FHSU-Bob Smith Open and Roger Denker Open ... at the Oklahoma Open, Rosholt wrestled his way to the final match, but fell short to eventual NCAA runner-up Josh Lambrecht ... he also placed second at the Cliff Keen Open ... during the summer, Rosholt captured two U.S. Freestyle titles and earned a trip to wrestle in China after winning the FILA Junior World National Freestyle Championships ... academically, he made the Big 12 Honor Roll.
High School: Jake graduated from Sandpoint High School in Idaho ... Rosholt lettered all four years at Sandpoint High, and won a High School National Championship in 2001.
Personal: Jake was born in Idaho, and is the son of Jim and Tracey Rosholt ... Jake has two sisters, Jesyca and Colleen and three younger brothers, Jared, Adam and Blake ... Jesyca is a junior forward on the Cowgirl soccer team, while Jared is a freshman heavyweight on the wrestling team ... he is a double major in education and ranch operations ... was born on Sept. 2, 1982.
