At Illinois State (Freshman): The Redbirds' starting point guard as a freshman and named the top freshman in the MVC ... began his career with a stellar performance against Oakland with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven steals ... came into his own late in the year, averaging 13.4 points and 4.0 assists while hitting 53.1 percent of his three-pointers in the final eight games of the season ... the first full-time freshman starter at ISU in four years.
High School: Shared the DiRenna Award (honoring the top player in the Kansas City area) with UCLA signee JaRon Rush; previous winners include Jon Sundvold and Anthony Peeler of Missouri and Calvin Thompson of Kansas ... the Kansas 5A Player of the Year ... led Wyandotte to the 5A state championship as a senior ... averaged 19.6 points, 6.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds in his senior year ... had 34 points, six assists and four steals in an OT first-round victory in the state tournament; hit four three-pointers in the final six minutes of a semifinal victory ... named the tournament MVP.
