October 13th will be Star-Spangled Saturday in Stillwater
Oct. 4, 2001 Stillwater, Okla. - Saturday, October 13, will be a banner day in Stillwater, America, as the OSU Athletics Department has dubbed it "Star-Spangled Saturday." Events scheduled include the Oklahoma State-Texas football game and the Great American Basketball Bash. The Texas Longhorns, ranked as the fifth-best team in America, will come to Stillwater for an 11:30 a.m. kickoff with Les Miles' Cowboys at Lewis Field. Following the game, one of America's best basketball teams will begin practice for the 2001-02 season in the best basketball facility in America as Eddie Sutton's Cowboys begin the year in Gallagher-Iba Arena. Commemorative T-shirts will go on sale this weekend at the OSU-Missouri football game. The cost is $10, and fans who purchase the shirt will get free admission to the Great American Basketball Bash. Admission to the event without the purchase of the shirt is $5. All proceeds go to benefit the American Red Cross.
