STILLWATER, Okla. – Tables and tickets are going fast for at the 2012 OSU POSSE Auction, set for Saturday, April 28, at Gallagher-Iba Arena. This year’s POSSE fundraiser will feature honorary chairs Rashaun, D'Juan and Donovan Woods.
The 2012 program includes over 500 items up for bid, highlighted by an all-original 1968 Ford Mustang convertible, lunch with Boone Pickens, a Brandon Weeden autographed game-worn helmet, a Justin Blackmon autographed jersey, a day spent with the OSU offensive and defensive coordinators, a tour of ESPN’s campus with Doug Gottlieb, an OSU-themed Yamaha ATV, a set of PING custom golf clubs and fitting in Arizona, a trip to Maui, numerous seaside and mountainside condo stays and other one-of-a-kind memorabilia.
With less than two weeks until the auction, nearly 60 tables have already been reserved, with a limited number of tables and individual tickets remaining. The event is expected to sell out, so Cowboy fans who wish to attend must purchase their tickets soon.
The auction is open to all OSU fans. To RSVP, fans can call the POSSE office at 877-2B-POSSE or e-mail email@example.com. Premium Tables (seating for 10) are available for $5,000 and $2,500, while Corporate/Group Tables (seating for 8) are $1,000. Individual tickets are $125.
The annual auction is the POSSE's primary fundraising event for the OSU Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund. Donations from the auction benefit all of Cowboys and Cowgirls who are pursuing excellence both on and off the playing field.
During most of the last decade, at least one of the Woods brothers was excelling for the Cowboys on the gridiron. A two-time All-American (2002, 2003), Rashaun is the Cowboys’ all-time leading receiver, with 4,414 yards and 42 touchdowns. D'Juan followed Rashaun, and was a two-time All-Big 12 wideout (2004, 2005) and played three seasons in the NFL. Donovan started his career at quarterback, but the versatile athlete made his name on the other side of the ball as a linebacker – a move than landed him a spot in the NFL. In 2007, he led the Pokes with 82 tackles. It is with great pride the POSSE welcomes back these three outstanding men and alumni.
Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of OSU faithful in attendance, along with volunteers and item donors from across the country, the 2011 POSSE Auction grossed more than $461,000 for the Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund, including $91,000 from a Dutch Auction benefiting the Joe & Connie Mitchell Academic Center. The live auction raised more than $179,000, while silent auction bid boards accounted for more than $86,000. Additional revenue was earned from table and ticket reservations.
